Description

Hartz Hairball Remedy Plus Paste is an easy-to-use wellness method for the removal and prevention of hairballs in cats and kittens. Cats with both short and long haired coats shed throughout the year. While bathing and brushing help to de-shed your furry friend and lessen the amount of hair swallowed during routine grooming, it is inevitable that some amount will be ingested. Large amounts of hair can block your cat’s digestive system. Hartz Hairball Remedy Plus aids hairballs in passing safely through the gastrointestinal tract and helps prevent the formation of future hairballs through regular use. The mouthwatering salmon flavor paste will be eagerly accepted by cats of all life stages. To help eliminate hairballs in cats, give a 1 inch ribbon of Hartz Hairball Remedy Plus for 3 - 4 days. Give between meals, either from your finger or by placing on the cat''s front paws where it can be licked off readily. To help prevent hairballs in cats, give a 1 inch ribbon of Hartz Hairball Remedy Plus 1 - 2 times per week. To minimize hairball formation, brush or comb your cat several times per week.

Seeing an animal you love, a cat in this case, in apparent distress is awful. I don''t know if it''s my cat or cats in general but seeing her puke up a hairball is basically like her oscar worthy audition for the exorcist. It''s legit horrifying. We''ve tried different food, other hairball prevention treats and extensive brushing, all to no avail, til I found this miraculous product. Squirt a little of this on the floor, she''ll gleefully lick it up and her horror movie worthy copious vomiting days are over! My only tip to other purchasers is that it can sometimes separate in the tube. If this happens you''ll notice that a clear oily substance comes out instead of the normal brownish color. It''s an easy fix though, just give it a vigorous shake, bang it around on the kitchen island& presto, you''re good to go again. Also if your feline is on the picky diva end of the cat spectrum when it comes to trying new things or flavors don''t worry. My picky little princess enthusiastically woofs this down so hopefully yours will too!

I have a very fluffy Maine coon who refuses to wash herself, so my black domestic short haired does the job for her. I treat the DSH once every two weeks and I do not find any vomited up hair balls on my floor anymore. I place a 1inch ribbon on the top of a rear leg where it can''t be shook off and she licks it all off. It is not on her long enough to be a problem, as she licks it right off. She experiences zero side effects. Just be sure not to place it on a paw, because it will be shook off immediately. Smear it into the fur for good adherence. I have used this product for years.

One of my DOGS obsessively licks everything, including his fur. He gets hairballs. We found out a year ago, when he lost several inches of intestine, nearly his life, and a big chunk of our savings.

We immediately began using hairball goo. The petromalt stuff out there is thicker than this product, and seems to have worked fine for a year. We wanted to find one we could subscribe to, though, so we tried this.

I HOPE it works. (Understatement.) That said... Both my dogs, including the other, very picky one, will eat this stuff off my fingers. I had to hide globs of the petromalt stuff inside sizable pieces of that plastic-wrapped sandwich cheese. That''s a huge plus. So we''ll keep using it while watching for evidence of any problems.

I don’t do it in front of him and I’m only using just enough to cover the tip of my pinkie but he smells it or something, because he usually will eat till he pukes if I let him. He’s having a lot of hair ball problems so I need something to work since brushing isn’t.

Since I purchased this for my long-haired male kitten (8 months), he has not been hacking at all! He always hacked before, but never actually produced a hairball. I can only assume that this product has helped him pass hairballs through his system instead. However, I do NOT recommend trying to put it on their paw and have them lick it off. Though he loves the flavor, he did NOT like that, and shook his paw which resulted in sticky paste being flung EVERYWHERE! I simply squeeze a one-inch strip onto a plate or his food bowl and he licks it from there. He loves it, and I''m happy I don''t have to clean up hairballs!

My long-haired cat was vomiting hairballs off and on and then one day she vomited a sausage shaped hairball so huge that I can only imagine that it had filled her entire stomach. The poor baby was literally howling as she threw up. Honestly, after that incident I was afraid she could possibly die from having a hairball block her GI tract. I went to PetSmart and bought some expensive, petroleum free hairball treatment but my cat had absolutely no interest in it. I found this inexpensive product at Walmart and after about a week or so of using it the problem was alleviated. Now she will only rarely vomit a little ball of hair. Walmart has been my source for this product however they stopped carrying it and now sells a chicken flavored Hairball Solution Gel by Pet-Ag. I tried to get my kitty to use the Pet-Ag product but she showed no interest in it. I had a little of this product left so I had to put a little drop of the Hartz on the Pet-Ag product to get her to eat it. As you can see by the instructions below, the dosage to prevent hairballs is feeding a one-inch ribbon once or twice a week. My kitty thinks this stuff is a treat and cries for it. Since her stomach is holding less food at night, I give her a little dot of it nightly. She’s excited to get her treat every night when I’m brushing my teeth. I put the dot of paste on a little dish and she laps it up right away. I make it a point to give it to her only when her stomach is pretty much empty of food so that the effectiveness is not reduced by the product being absorbed by the food. Here are the use instructions and an ingredient list:

Anyway, he''s been a hairball sufferer for years. We used to give him the GNC hairball control paste that smells like Maple Syrup. He hates it. He won''t even lick it off of himself. He just leaves it there to dry in his fur like the little monster he is. This one is a god send. We still have to pry his jaws open to take it and he bites the crap out of me afterwards for his trouble, but he''s stopped choking for a few days now and I''m so happy. He seemed like he was in a lot of pain with those hairballs. It''s a bit oily and it kind of melts on my fingers, which is a little weird, but all in all, if it makes him feel better, I''m fine with it.

As anyone reading this may know, it is pretty impossible to buy Nutrivet Hairball Paw Gel (SALMON) in Canada. It was the only paw gel flavour my cat would eat. I have spent so much time, money and frustration getting it shipped from all over the USA. Then I came across this product on amazon.ca and saw that it is SALMON flavoured. My spoiled cat will NOT consume malt nor chicken flavour! And she desperately needs help with hairballs. So I bought 2 tubes of this Hartz Hairball Remedy as a sample and hoped for the best. BIC got it to me quite fast, way ahead of the estimated delivery date, even though it had to go through Canada Customs. The price was great and included tax and duties. But all of this is of no use if my cat won''t eat it! To my very happy surprise, she really likes it and licks it off my finger happily. If your cat was hooked on the Nutrivet Salmon Paw Gel, I recommend you give this a try. Just buy a couple tubes to begin with.
